Dendrobium is a unique herb that I have been excited to add to the apothecary for many years. It is the the only orchid that exists in the tonic herb category, and offers an array of nourishing qualities long revered for their ability to replenish the body, bothy physically and energetically. It is the primary herb in a classic formula known as the "Healer's Tea," along with goji, schisandra, and licorice. In Asia this Healer's Tea is used by many practitioners, and primarily by acupressurists before and after each session to clear and replenish their energy. Oftentimes, people will abruptly leave the acupressurists shop if they do not see or smell the tea steadily brewing upon entering. Recently the demand and price for Dendrobium string has increased, and it is semi difficult to find the top quality “string” that comes in a tightly wound up ball.
