🌊 Qi Tonic, Harmonizer

Chen Pi is made from dried and aged citrus peels from Tangerines or Mandarin Oranges (Citrus reticulata). As the citrus peels age through a controlled drying process, the flavors and citrus bioflavonoids are concentrated, producing a tangy yet bitter-sweet flavor.  Chen Pi is typically used as a Harmonizer in Tonic Teas, uniting flavors while enhancing the overall efficacy and absorption of the other Tonics in the blend.  It has been used for centuries to support digestion and assimilation of nutrients, brighten the mood, and enhance the flavor of other medicinal herb compounds. Chen Pi tea makes a delicious and tangy cocktail bitter or aperitif.  Chen Pi is normalizing to the Spleen and Stomach, while warming to the Middle Jiao and known to dry dampness and move stagnant Qi.

We love to blend Chen Pi with other adaptogenic Tonics like American Ginseng, Cordyceps m., Schisandra, and Licorice. And we like to use it in formulas for warming and stimulating circulation and clearing stagnant energy in the midsection.
