I have been blown away by the quality of this extract.  It is created from roots that have grown for at least 6-10 years, and as a result contain deeper rejuvenating and adaptogenic qualities when compared to the younger versions.  Roots of this age will have a dual-directional effect on the system, which can enhance energy and stamina in a grounded, revitalizing, and nourishing way.  Properly ages roots are also believed to be significantly nourishing to our spirit.  This extract is very concentrated and strong, with a deep rich flavor that stays on the palate.  The starting dosage is 1/8 tsp, and like most of the premier herbs I have, a little goes a very long way.  I love this product and am incredibly grateful to have a ginseng of this quality in my apothecary.

 

In Chinese medicine, Ginseng is revered and prized as one of the most valuable herbs.  There are many different Ginsengs with many different properties.  The common Chinese white variety, Panax ginseng, is most often used for tonifying digestion, increasing adaptogenic energy, strengthening overall energy (Qi) in the body, and promoting longevity.  It has also been used to increase physical energy, sexual energy, and power.  Ginseng is one of the most widely used energy tonics in the world.
